Tonight I made oyster stew for supper. I haven’t eaten it in a decade or more, but I always enjoyed it as a kid, and so did my husband. Today it was cold, and he asked if I’d make some. It was delicious, and it’s very easy to make.
I love soups and stews and could eat them every day, especially in the colder months. But my husband isn’t crazy about them. He’ll eat them if that’s what I cook, but they’re not his favorite, and he never asks for them. I’m glad he did today because there’s just so much comfort in a bowl of soup.
Right now, the wind is whipping outside, and it’s so cold, and I’m sitting here so grateful for my loved ones, warmth, and a bowl of oyster stew.
