Fall Walk – I match the leaves!

I match the changing leaves today! 🙂

I walked by myself this morning. I woke up with swelling in my hands and feet, my legs were pretty sore, and I was later going to walk than I planned to be.

I went anyway.

Today I was reminded of a couple different things, the first is that progress isn’t linear. The hilly one mile walk was harder this time. I didn’t jog at all either, I couldn’t. It was a struggle the whole time. The humidity was high and I could tell the difference. The benches along the way taunted me, but I kept going, slow and steady.

The second thing that I was reminded of is that sometimes God’s plan is different than our own. Toward the end of my walk a lady passed me and I noticed the roasary in her hand. I told her is was beautiful and she said that she prays the roasary when she walks.

I listen to worship music when I walk.

Two women, both walking in a beautiful park, surrounded by leaves changing colors, both of us worshiping in our own way.  It was a beautiful moment, and it made me grateful that I started my walk later and that I hadn’t been able to jog. If any of those variables had been different, I wouldn’t have seen the woman praying her rosary.
