Komorebi

Komorebi is a Japanese word that translates to “sunlight leaking through trees.” It’s a word that describes the dancing shadows created by light shining through trees’ branches and foliage. The word perfectly describes the natural occurrence of light piercing through the canopy of leaves in a more poetic way than the English language allows. Somehow, the English language falls short when attempting to convey the ethereal beauty of the light and the shadows caused by the absence of light, and how they play together. The shimmer, the flickers, the shadows waltzing across the ground – Komorebi.
