New Year Cleaning Energy, Weekly Plan, and Remembrance

I spent the day cleaning and organizing.  It was nice to have a little burst of energy. I reset a closet, did some laundry, some cleaning, and I started taking down Christmas decorations. It’s a little late for that, but I don’t have a set day that I take them down. I just take them down when it feels right. Today felt right.

Tomorrow I plan to continue taking down decorations, decluttering, and deep cleaning. I’m also going to cook for a couple of days, so I don’t have to cook every day this week, and if it works out, I might do more doubling up on the cooking. Tomorrow I’ll cook for two days, then I’ll use those leftovers to make a soup for the following day. There’s just something about a big pot of soup this time of year.

I’m reserving Wednesday and Thursday for writing, and then Friday will be a mix of tasks to end the week.

I want to end this post by acknowledging that it’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and if you want to quietly celebrate or remember, this post has a list of his quotes.
