I’ve always loved Christmas Romance, whether drama or romcom. There’s just something so cozy about sitting down to a Christmas themed movie, where you know there’s a love story and always a happy ending. The characters might get a little mixed up in the middle or be reluctant to fall in love, but they always work it out and get their happy ever after.
A lot of people think it’s boring if you know how it’s going to end, but I find the familiarity, the predictability, comforting. I love snuggling in for a movie and knowing that I’ll get to fall for some warm characters and a charming town. I love knowing that in the end, everyone will be happy and in love.
The worst part of these movies is that I always wish I knew how their story ends because most often, at the end of the movie, the real love story is only just beginning. I suppose that’s what your imagination is for.
I don’t know if I’ll ever tire of watching the same storylines, in some picturesque Christmas setting, but for now, I’m going to soak up all of the joy I can as I watch love develop. And I’m going to drink my hot chocolate and hum to the Christmas music playing in the background.
