About Me

Hi, I’m Crystal Touchton! Welcome to my home base online, where I share my work-from-home journey and all the projects I’ve been working on. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve learned a lot about remote work, and my goal is to provide both inspiration and practical information for anyone working remotely – or interested in taking the plunge!

My Story

I’m a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. I wear many hats, including being a homeschool mom and work-from-home professional. As stated above, I’ve been working from home for over 15 years. I have experimented with many types of income streams, and although not all of my adventures have been successful, I’ve continued to learn and grow my skillset over time.

I’d like to share what I’ve learned with you, including my successes and failures. I believe failures are only bad if you don’t learn from them, and falling down is only bad if you stay down. My journey has taught me resilience, perseverance, and the importance of being a lifelong learner.

Balancing life, including homeschooling my teen and managing my work-from-home responsibilities, has taught me a lot about time management, organization, and perseverance. Every challenge I face is an opportunity to grow and improve.

My Work From Home Journey

My work-from-home journey has been both rewarding and challenging. I began writing on a website called Squidoo (which has since closed down), but I haven’t stopped learning yet. I’ve gained experience in:

  • Internet/Affiliate Marketing: Building and promoting websites to generate passive income.
  • Writing PLR and Ghostwriting: Creating content for others to use and sell as their own.
  • Creating Niche Websites: Developing specialized websites targeting specific interests.
  • Print on Demand and Printables: Designing and selling custom products.
  • Graphics: Crafting visual content for various platforms and purposes.
  • Independent Contract Positions: Serving as an Ad Assessor, Search Engine Evaluator, and LLM (AI) Specialist to help improve search results and AI performance.
  • Numerous Platforms: Including Etsy, Printify, Merch by Amazon, Teachers Pay Teachers, WordPress, Zazzle, Creative Fabrica, and more.

All these experiences have given me a well-rounded skillset and a good grasp of the remote work world, but there are still areas I need improvement in and there’s always something new to learn!

Fun Facts 🙂

  • My youngest son (who is a teen) nicknamed me T-Rex Arms because I’m short and he picks on me about my height for fun. Now, I love cute T-rex items and have several different ones.
  • I love the beach more than any other place on earth and feel more at home in the ocean than on land. Being in the ocean is the most relaxing experience I’ve ever felt.
  • I am a plant murderer. I don’t mean to be, but I am. My oldest son bought me a singing cactus and I forgot to charge him so now they pick on me that I can even kill fake plants. Oooopsy!

More About Me

Some of my interests outside of working from home are, in no particular order, my faith, family, writing, Minecraft, homeschooling, health and fitness, ADHD, the beach, holidays, reading,  geocaching, cooking, planning, organization, productivity, journaling, art, playing cornhole, watching TV, and so much more!

I love to learn and experience new things, and I wholeheartedly believe that being a lifelong learner is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
